KCMT completed construction of new factory in Ulju...the largest in the industry
KCMT held a ceremony for the completion of its new factory in Ulju at the Energy Convergence General Industrial Complex in Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju-gun on the 15th.
The energy convergence general industrial complex has advantages of accessibility, industrial infrastructure, and support from Ulsan-si and Ulju-gun.
At the completion ceremony, Cho Jung-sik, CEO of SK BU, Jeong Ho-dong, Director of Economic Investment Promotion Bureau of Ulsan Metropolitan City,Kazakh Ambassador Bakyt DyussenbayevMore than 200 people attended, including Park Jong-seop, chairman of the Korean Society of Complex New Materials Structure, Kim Nak-young, chairman of the Korea Tunnel Underground Space Association, and Lee Seung-chul, CEO of Samgang MT.
The KCMT Ulju New Plant is about 15,000 pyeong (37,377㎡ of 1 plant, 11,174㎡ of 2 plants) and can produce 50,000 tons of eco-friendly glass fiber composite material (KEco Rebar) per year.It is the largest in the domestic industry.
KCMT, a GFRP rock bolt producer, entered the reinforcement root market and put reinforcement root of glass fiber composite material on the market, a replacement for steel bars that recycled discarded plastic resources.
According to KCMT, reinforcing roots of glass fiber composite materials are semi-permanent materials with a lifespan of 100 years.It is 25% lighter than iron and has twice as good tensile strength.Non-magnetic non-conductors have excellent heat shielding properties, and above all, carbon emissions can be reduced by as much as 45% compared to rebars.
With the completion of the new plant in Ulju, KCMT is planning to raise the plant's operating rate to normal.
