[NEWS] The new material of your dreams - GFRP embedded super cone slats instead of rebar!

2024.11.29

- Korea's Conslat makes world premiere of Super Base-Super Conslat... Utilizing GFRP internal reinforcement, a dream new material

- Never corrodes (rusts), so it can be used semi-permanently after installation (expected service life of about 80 years)

- Load strength is 1.5 times stronger than conventional products for excellent durability... Non-slippery embossed cone slats + GFRP reinforcements make it a 'winner'

Conslat, which utilizes GFRP, a new material that replaces rebar, which is mainly used for concrete reinforcement, has made its debut in the Korean market, and it is being closely watched to see what kind of changes it will bring in the future.

Ltd, a representative company of Korea's KonSlat with 30 years of technology, has applied for a patent and introduced Super Base (KonSlat Beam) and Super KonSlat for the first time in the world, utilizing GFRP, a rebar substitute that is attracting attention as a dream new material.

Super Base and Super Cone Slab, which use GFRP, a new material that replaces rebar, do not corrode (rust) like rebar, so they can be used semi-permanently after installation (expected service life of about 80 years), and their load strength is 1.5 times stronger than conventional products, making them extremely durable. In addition, the embossed concrete surface makes them non-slippery.

Super Base and Super Cone Slat have been officially certified as having superior bending strength compared to conventional bases and conventional cone slats by the Korea Institute of Construction Quality and Safety Evaluation, and a patent is currently pending.

GFRP has been used since the early 1940s, and since the 1960s, carbon fiber, which is superior to glass fiber, has emerged and is combined with plastic to replace previously used metal and ceramic materials. Its advantages include light weight, durability, impact resistance, abrasion resistance, rust resistance, low thermal conductivity, and easy processing.

GFRP, a rebar substitute made of glass fiber, is said to prevent concrete from cracking due to corrosion of rebar, is lightweight at only a quarter of the weight of rebar, and is rust-resistant and durable, ensuring a long service life of more than 80 years.

In particular, GFRP reinforcement is known as an eco-friendly new building material that can contribute to carbon neutrality, a concept that reflects the goal and commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 to create a safe and sustainable society in response to the climate crisis, so its use has increased significantly in recent years and is expected to gain more attention in the construction field.

The main products of Hankook Conslat include dry columns, conslat bases, conslats, round slabs, square slabs, protective slabs (for square slabs), and concrete partitions, which are made of high strength and can be used semi-permanently because they do not contain rebar.

Korea Conslat has a specialized team for new and renovation construction that has been recognized by many farms nationwide. The team, comprised of experienced professionals with about 30 years of experience, directly installs concrete slats and partitions from the pillars. It is also capable of removing and installing concrete slats, and guarantees a thorough two-year responsible after-sales service.
