Full-scale entry into the Middle East market for eco-friendly infrastructure and composite material technology
On Wednesday, July 16, KCMT, a leading eco-friendly construction material company, officially signed an MOU on industrial cooperation in the field of GFRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic) with Abdullah Al-Sayed Al-Hashemi, Chairman of Calidus LLC, a private defense and aviation company in the UAE, and other related parties.
Calidus is a key defense company in the Middle East that has developed and produced the UAE's first domestically produced light attack aircraft B-250, multipurpose armored vehicle Wahash, and short-range missile Al Heda, securing a defense contract worth 3.3 trillion won with the UAE Ministry of Defense.
This visit and MOU signing mark the first step toward jointly developing KCMT's eco-friendly composite material technology and production infrastructure with the UAE, based on prior collaboration with KCMT's subsidiary EcoPolymer.
This MOU aims to build strategic synergies between KCMT's composite material technologies, including its eco-friendly GFRP reinforcing bars (KEco), and the UAE's infrastructure and defense industries, with the goal of expanding the application of GFRP within the UAE government and the Middle East market.
A KCMT official stated, “This MOU will serve as an important opportunity to integrate KCMT's advanced composite material technology with the Middle East's infrastructure and defense industries, and we anticipate expanding into the global market through close collaboration with the UAE government and related institutions.”
KCMT plans to strengthen its partnerships in the Middle East region and actively pursue entry into the global eco-friendly infrastructure market with the UAE as its base.
